Location

Burr Oak Lake is located in the beautiful rolling hills of southeastern Ohio.

Minutes to Glouster, Athens, Nelsonville and less than an hour to Hocking Hills. 

The Lakehouse is located close to Dock 1 at Burr Oak State Park.

Sunset Point is located close to Dock 2 at Burr Oak State Park.

Both houses are near the south end of the v-shaped lake.

Burr Oak Lake - A no wake lake(all motors allowed) that allows all boats.  Swimming locations are located at a public beach off SR 13 and off a boat in bootleggers cove.  Swimming off the Lake House and Sunset Point properties is not permitted (state law), but fishing is welcome.  There are hiking trails completely around the lake; they are part of the Buckeye Trail and the American Discovery Trail.



Dock 1 Marina - 1/2 mile - The only place on the lake to rent boats: pontoons, johnboats, canoes, and kayaks.  Also available: bait, tackle, snacks, fishing license, and ice.  (740) 767-3585



Forest Hills Golf Course - 1 mile - A 9 hole golf course is located on SR 78.  (740) 767-4623



Burr Oak Lodge - 2 miles - a restaurant with a bar, indoor pool(public passes available).  There are events throughout the year, including Pioneer Days, Civil War reenactments and art exhibitions.

Muskingum River Parkway State Park - 19 miles - The Muskingum River Parkway and its 160-year-old navigation system were designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in July 2001. The Muskingum River's 10 hand-operated locks are now recognized as one of America's great engineering accomplishments.



Historic McConnelsville - 20 miles - A quaint rivertown where you will feel as though have stepped back in time.  Many buildings are in the Ohio Historical Register from the Twin City Opera House and the Button House Museum , the village is a feast for the eyes and the senses.  



The Wilds, Cumberland, Ohio - 40 miles - Thousands of acres have been developed and divided into large sections where African, Asian, and North American wild animal species are managed.



Blennerhassett Island State Park - 44 miles -  Located on the Ohio River in Parkersburg, WV, visitors can enjoy picnicking, horse-drawn wagon rides, shopping at the Friends of Blennerhassett Gift Shop, the refreshment stand, bike rentals, nature walks, and, of course, touring the beautiful Blennerhassett Mansion.
